Description
The old centre of Ayr is worth viewing with some interesting buildings and old bridges. The banks on the river are full of wild flowers with some areas with some woodland areas. The part of the walk through the park is lined with pansies in stripes of colour. The walk returns through the Auld Kirk grounds. This is where Robert Burns was baptised. Walking the town walk to Craigie Park can break the walk into two. On another occasion start at Craigie and walk Over Mill Bridge for the purely country walk.
Access Info
The A77 from Glasgow in the North or Girvan in the South. Leave for Ayr South. Follow directions to Leisure Centre car parking at The Citadel Leisure Centre. Frequent bus and train to Ayr Town Centre.
