Description
Turn left on leaving the visitor centre car park. Cross the road and walk to the end of the field where you join the ?West Highland Way? and continue a short distance until you meet the forest road.
Turn left and continue until you meet the fork in the road, choose the upper road and after 3k you will reach a stile. Cross this and follow the path to the left which will offer spectacular views from the site of the old fort.

From the Nevis Bank roundabout on the A82 just north of Fort William town centre take the unclassified road up Glen Nevis. 2km up the glen is the Glen Nevis Visitor centre and car park. Start here.

The route follows part of the West Highland Way long distance path. The visitor centre at the start provides information, advice, books, maps and gifts as well as toilets. A short distance along the road is Glen Nevis campsite with adjacent bar, restaurant and café.

The woodland on the ascent is good for Red Squirrels and there are good views of Ben Nevis from the summit.
