Description
From the car park a trail leads up the valley, partly on a boardwalk giving a good perspective of the native woodland, now regenerating due to the controlling of deer numbers. It?s worth continuing far enough to get the view into Coire Ardair with it?s dramatic 400m cliffs, particularly impressive in winter, before returning by the same route.
Experienced hillwalkers can continue beyond this to the foot of the corrie before heading up to the col known as the window and on to the summit of Creag Meagaidh. This gives an outing of 10 miles / 16 km with 900 metres of ascent.
Access Info
On the A86 road between Newtonmore and Spean Bridge, 10 miles west of Laggan is a large car park at the start of the walk.
No public transport, nearest train station is Newtonmore.
Additional Info
Creag Meagaidh is a National nature reserve. There are interpretive panels at the car park and an all abilities trail.
The trail winds through native woodland dominated by a mix of trees and gives spectacular views of the expanse of Loch Laggan and the crags in Coire Adair.
