Description
The River Glass, is spectacular, being 150ft deep, with sheer sides, and only 10ft wide. It features in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.....The gorge occurs where the River Glass, outflowing from Loch Glass, cuts through a band of harder rock. You climb on good paths through stands of old beech, pines and firs to where two little bridges cross the gorge. You may return by the same route or, having crossed one of the bridges, return by a (muddy) path on the other side. Boots are advised if taking the muddy path. The walk is not signposted; and it is advised that young children and dogs are kept under firm control between waymarks 4 and 9, where the path is near the gorge.
