Description

Formerly the grounds of the castle, the area is now Forestry Commission. The paths are good and varied. At the highest point on the walk (120m) there is a lovely, secluded lochan; and further on, an informative viewpoint overlooks and provides information on, the site of the Battle of Carbisdale (Covenanters and Royalists, 1650).

Access Info

At Ardgay, turn off the A9 at the Lady Ross Restaurant and continue for four miles to Culrain. Just after Culrain you'll see the gates leading in to the castle on your left. The car park is at the end of the driveway (573955).
