Dundonnell - Achneigie - Shenavall

| 13 kms | 05:00 (hrs:mins) | 650 metres | Explorer 435: An Teallach & Slioch |
Description
This walk takes in some of best scenery in Wester Ross. The area beyond Shenevall is considered by many to be Scotland's best wilderness and this is a great introduction to the area. Yhe views of Beinn Dearg Mor in particular are fantastic. When documenting this walk the weather was very squally so the pictures probably don't do it justice, but have a look at the introductory photo (from a previous visit) to see just how spectacular it can be! Although the first stretch is on a good, easy-to-follow track, the return part from Shenevall to the Land-Rover track can be difficult to follow, particularly in mist - so go prepared.
Access Info
There is a lay-by offering parking immediately opposite the start point, which is on the A832 a few hundred metres east of Dundonnell. If this is full (as the starting point for An Teallach it can be) then there is another parking area 100m east. There is a bus service past here but it is fairly infrequent and not particularly useful for day trips here, although you could use it to reach Dundonnell and do this walk whilst staying there.
