| Distance | Approximate Time | Height Gain | OS Map |
| 10 kms | 03:20 (hrs:mins) | 70 metres | Explorer 434: Gairloch & Loch Ewe |
Description
This a very nice way to spend a short day out, as you go along the path by the loch until you get to the Kernsary Farm buildings.
Here you join a very good land-rover track which you follow all the way back to Poolewe, through some very pleasant scenery and finish your walk by the banks of the River Ewe.
Access Info
It is possible to park the car near the shops in the village of Poolewe or just over the bridge on the main road, where you turn immediately right; there is a small car park which is not very well signposted. Then walk along the main road by the side of Loch Ewe past the caravan site, until you see a signpost to Cearnasairidh and Kernsary.
Additional Info
Nearest tourist information centre is at gairloch, tel: 01445 712071.
Very close by are the well-known Inverewe Gardens.
This walk takes you to the edge of what is arguably Scotland's greatest wilderness (although there are good paths throughout). Consequently there are excellent views, good opportunities to see wildlife particularly deer but no facilities except in Poolewe at the start or end of the walk. Facilities include accommodation, pubs, tea room, shops and an outdoor shop. Nearby are the famous Inverewe Gardens.
