Description

Looking along the west beach of the town of Nairn

A walk west from Nairn, a popular holiday seaside town on the south shore of the Moray Firth. Partly along the shore and partly in open pine forest this is a good family walk. The walk begins at the harbour and goes along the shoreline for 2.5miles then inland into Delnies Wood before looping back to the shore. It can be shortened by 2 miles by beginning and ending at the seaward end of Seabank Road.

Access Info

You may start at the harbour or at the seaward end of Seabank Rd (870570). Scotrail operate from Inverness to Nairn. Buses are operated by Scottish Citylink and Stagecoach.

Additional Info

Other features: Beach. The ice houses were at one time used to preserve winter ice into the summer months for packing fish. Note that the busy A96 has to be crossed (twice).
