Description

This is the section of the West Highland Way which takes you from the edge of the Central Lowlands into the Highlands. An easy start to the walk is followed by woodland, open moor and then the ascent of Conic Hill before dropping down to the shores of Loch Lomond at Balmaha.

Access Info

Parking is freely available at both the start and end of the route and there are regular buses between Drymen and Balmaha with connections from the railway at Balloch and from Glasgow.

Additional Info

Conic Hill forms part of the Highland Boundary Fault - the geological edge of the Highlands and the line of the fault can easily be seen from the summit of Conic hill - the line of islands leading across Loch Lomond. Some of this section of the West Highland Way.
