Description
This walk ascends one Munro, Ben Vorlich (not to be confused with the Ben Vorlich above Loch Earn). This route starts and finishes at Ardlui, ascending the mountain's east ridge, via Stuc na Nughinn and the Little Hills, descending by the north-east ridge, completing a horseshoe circuit of Coire Creagach. There are spectacular views of Loch Lomond throughout.
Ben Vorlich is a large, complicated mountain, with ridges running to the SSE, east, ENE, NE and north of the mountain. This route follows the two most attractive ridges it ascends by the eastLittle Hills ridge and descends by the NEStob nan Coinnich Bhaca.
Access Info
Considering its location and size, Ardlui is extremely well connected.
By train: Several Scotrail services a day on the scenic West Highland Line, from Glasgow to Fort William and back, all stopping at Ardlui station.
Additional Info
This walk very close to the Ben Vane walk, and also Ben Lui (Walk 1010) and The Cobbler are pretty close. Ardlui Hotels Lomond Bar is an ideal way to finish the walk while waiting for a train or bus, it is expensive but very pleasant and serves a wide variety of refreshments.
