Meall nan Tarmachan
| Distance | Approximate Time | Height Gain | OS Map |
| 7 kms | 03:00 (hrs:mins) | 550 metres | Explorer 378: Ben Lawers & Glen Lyon |
Description
Although it appears as a long rocky ridge in the popular view from the Falls of Dochart at Killin, the ascent is a fairly straightforward one. The high road over the side of Ben Lawers gives easy access and leaves a climb of only 550m by a fairly direct route to the summit. However, to get the most out of this hill a traverse of the tops and return by the track on the south side of the mountain is recommended. Although rocky in places the ridge is nowhere too narrow and gives a straightforward high level traverse with some good views.
Access Info
From the shores of Loch Tay about miles east of Killin an unclassified road rises steeply to the pass between Ben Lawers and Meall nan Tarmachan. A short distance beyond the Ben Lawers Visitor Centre a track heads off to the left 1 km before the south end
