Description
The route can be started from any one of three points: Garenin (blackhouse village), Dalmore or Dalbeg (sandy beaches). The track follows the rugged coastline through moorland, croft land and onto sandy beaches. Good variety of vegetation and wildlife.
Access Info
For Garenin (Gearrannan), turn off the A858 in Carloway and follow signs for Gearrannan Blackhouse village. Parking at the village. For Dalmore and Dalbeg, follow signs for each one off the A858. Parking at both villages.
No public transport.
Additional Info
Garenin has the only surviving group of Blackhouses in the Western Isles.
