Loch Morlich - Sluggan Pass Circular

Distance Approximate Time Height Gain OS Map
12.88 kms 03:30 (hrs:mins) 150 metres Explorer 403: Cairn Gorm & Aviemore

Description

Most of the walk is in mature pine forest; where felling has been carried out there are very good views into the northern corries of the Cairngorms.Beginning at the car park at Loch Morlich the walk follows broad forestry trails all the way, so no special footwear is required. At the Sluggan a 1mile diversion can be made to a TV mast; the view is hardly worth it...The views on the return journey are spectacular. Near the end of the walk there are cafes, toilets, shop, Visitor Centre and Reindeer Centre; and in good weather the Loch Morlich beach is very popular.

Access Info

From Aviemore the car park is on the shore of Loch Morlich when you first sight the loch(959097). There are buses from Aviemore to Glenmore.
