Glenramskill, the old road, Campbeltown

Distance Approximate Time Height Gain OS Map
5 kms 2 hours 0 metres Explorer 356: Kintyre south

Description

From Glenramskill House go uphill towards Low Glenramskill farm. There is a 'diversion' around the MoD fence that regions the old road up and over the hill. Alongside the old road, near its highest point, there is a heathery mound which is actually the much reduced remains of a hill fort. The road along the east coast of Kintyre, known locally as Leerside, offers a chance to look out for varied birdlife along the shore - whatever the season.
