Meall nan Eun

One of two mountains (the other being Stob Coir'an Albannaich) which are on the east side of Glen Etive near its foot. Stob Coir'an Albannaich rises steeply above the glen and its summit is hidden beyond the lower slopes, while Meall nan Eun can be glimpsed at the head of Glen Ceitlein. From the opposite viewpoint near the west end of Loch Tulla, Stob Coir' an Albannaich shows its sharp-pointed summit and Meall nan Eun appears as a big dome with a distinctive concave corrie on its south-east flank.

The shortest approach to these two mountains is from Glen Etive, starting from the road 1½ kilometres beyond Invercharnan. Follow the track down to the River Etive and go left beyond the bridge for 1 kilometre. Then climb south-east up the north-west shoulder of Beinn Chaorach and continue south up a broad ridge which narrows to the summit of Stob Coir' an Albannaich.

To continue to Meall nan Eun, descend the east ridge for barely ½ kilometre and then make a descending traverse northwards to a col. Cross Meall Tarsuinn, dropping to 790m at another col and climb to the summit dome of Meall nan Eun. To return to Glen Etive, go north-west and descend a broad ridge to the headwaters of the Allt Ceitlein. Cross to its north side and follow a path down to Glen Etive.
